ICC Proposed Code Change Monograph, Now Availalbe

Get Ready for the 2012 Versions of the I-Codes

It seems that the ICC just released the 2009 editions of the I-Code series and now it is time to start the process to develop the next generation of codes.  The code change proposal monograph for the 2009/2010 Code Change cycle is now available.   The web-page provided by the ICC gives you the option to download the changes through a .pdf format or you can register to receive a CD.  The ICC has stated that CDs will be mailed for on or about October 3, 2009.

After a quick look at a couple of the documents there have been some usability changes to the documents.  The on-line version of the monograph and the CDs are PDF files that contain new features:

  • Highlighting and commenting (using Adobe Reader)
  • Adobe search
  • Bookmarks
  • The files are also designed for quicker downloads

As part of ICC’s green initiative, printed monograph books will not be mailed or supplied at the hearings.

I just heard there are a couple of changes being made to the monograph. There were some changes missed in the General Section. So if you can wait a little bit, go ahead, but updates will be made according to the ICC

Also make sure you read up on the early section of the monograph for the rules as there are some fundamental changes in the code development process including final action hearings on plan A and B
