The New President Will Change Our Jobs

Climate Change and Green Jobs are part of the new administration

Emphasis on clean energy and a green industry are part of the turn around plan presented by future President Barack Obama.  Recently the house moved to pass the American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill.

According to the summary of the bill the stimulus will:

Put people back to work today and reduce our dependence on foreign oil tomorrow, we will strengthen efforts directed at doubling renewable energy production and renovate public buildings to make them more energy efficient

  • $32 billion to transform the nation’s energy transmission, distribution, and production systems by allowing for a smarter and better grid and focusing investment in renewable technology.

State Codes to Meet ASHRE Energy Requirements

States must now certify that their building codes meet the requirements in ASHRAE/IESNA’s 2004 energy efficiency standard, under a ruling issued by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) that finds the standard saves more energy than an earlier version.

ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, has been established by the DOE as the commercial building reference standard for state building energy codes under the federal Energy Policy Act.
